Chemistry lab

POSTDOCTORAL FELLOW

We have openings for postdoctoral research fellows in medicinal chemistry/organic chemistry/drug discovery in the laboratory of Professor Shaomeng Wang. Successful candidates will join a multi-disciplinary team of medicinal chemists, biochemists, cell biologists, pharmacologists, structural biologists, and computational chemists in the University of Michigan Medical School to engage in research in the discovery of novel small-molecule degraders/inhibitors for the treatment of human cancers and other diseases. A Ph.D in organic or medicinal chemistry and the ability to perform multi-step organic syntheses and characterize products are required. Excellent written and communication skills are also essential. Some background in biology, biochemistry or pharmacology is beneficial but not required. Responsibilities will include: design and synthesis of small-molecule degraders and inhibitors in close collaborations with other members of the laboratory. Salary $50,000 - $60,000 per annum.
